Project Design Research

Review of site constraints, Client brief, and architects conceptual strategies

Successful projects are the result of a harmonious integration of the various design parameters, the architects intent and the engineering requirements.
Prior to embarking on a structural design, we spend time in discussions with the project architects to understand their philosophy and strategy with reqards to the project, then undertake research from various sources to seek appropriate structural geometries and materials for the design.
For example we may look at natural structures, animals, aircraft or previous architectural and works as references. We then decipher a structural language that can then be appropriately applied to our current project.
