The college has been designed around a compact learning environment with flexible and casual spaces and adaptable intelligent learning technologies, encouraging staff and student integration. Four learning commons orbit a central courtyard. Other spaces include resources areas, a cafeteria, technology and industry areas, lounges and staff areas. Flexible campuslike interiors are united under a single umbrella of learning creating a learning “mall” for exchange of ideas. The facility incorporates a wide variety of state-of-the-art technical systems and ESD principles such as a compact building shape; strategic fenestration and high values of insulation; high levels of daylighting to maximise comfort and learning outcomes and a ground-air conduct air supply system for high comfort uring hot and cold conditions.
