This was an open invitation to architects and consultants (over 1,800 entries)
from around the world to engage in a challenging act of creative design that
stipulates a unique architecture for the long anticipated Grand Egyptian
Museum.
It was Spowers' intention to create a living museum which makes evident the cultural,
social and historical significance of the collection across the full width of
the global society.
The central premise was to provide a suitable climate to enjoy the exhibits and
artifacts whilst eliminating any effects of degradation, preserving the artifacts
for future generations.
The project collaboration team were; Michael Brickell, Nigel Fitton, Peter Felicetti, John Magart, Andrea Pascucci, Michael Wright, Kerryn Wilmot, Chris Johnson, Danny Juric, Susannah Kitching, Naomi Mace and Nicholas Childs.
The project was one of a selection to be published in a two volume book on the project.
