As the first stage of an overall Vision 2000 masterplan, the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria required a new infill pavilion/exhibition hall of 8000m2 area. The new hall was to be constructed between the existing Royal Block and Government Pavilion. This pavilion was to also serve as the entrance to a future major exhibition space.
The economical structure developed by Felicetti consisted of 35m span portal frames at 8m centres, and a prestressed concrete suspended slab supported on a column grid of 8m x 8m..
Felicetti provided structural engineering services from design stage through to completion of construction
In addition to the work undertaken on the infill pavilion Felicetti prepared a number of structural feasibility studies and concepts for various aspects of the masterplan.
