New 3 level museum of 9000m2 area, excavated 12m into a cliff face adjacent to Hobart's waterfront. Construction system consists of post tensioned beam and waffle slabs. The rock anchored exposed rock face required Mining techniques. A tunnel and vertical shaft is to be constructed under the existing Roy Grounds building, with associated underpinning.
Construction has commenced with completion due in 2009.
